Depart the USA on your overnight flight to Cairo.
Day 2 Arrive Cairo
Welcome to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will be met and escorted to your hotel.
Day 3 Cairo | Meals: BL
Our first stop is at the fabulous Egyptian Museum to see just a few of the priceless antiquities including King Tutankhamon's Treasures. After lunch we visit Cheop's Pyramid--one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World--and the Sphinx, the great god-lion sentinel, built over 35 centuries ago.
Day 4 Cairo-Luxor Embark Cruise | Meals: BLD
Fly to Luxor where you join your Nile cruise vessel for a 4-night cruise. Later, cross the Nile to Luxor's West Bank, where you'll explore the astonishing and extensive New Kingdom city of "Thebes". After lunch, visit Luxor and Karnak Temples.
Day 5 Luxor-Edfu | Meals: BLD
Sail to Edfu via Esna lock.
Day 6 Edfu-Kom Ombo-Aswan | Meals: BLD
Today an exhilarating carriage ride takes you through town to the Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. Return to your ship and sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Graeco - Roman style Temple of Sobek, the Crocodile God. Standing serenely on a hilltop, the site offers an incredible view over the Nile. Then sail to Aswan.
Day 7 Aswan | Meals: BLD
Morning sightseeing includes Aswan's Old and High Dams, the ancient Granite Quarries, and the Temple of Philae. After lunch we sail around Elephantine Island.
Day 8 Aswan-Abu Simbel-Cairo | Meals: B
A morning flight takes you to Aswan to admire the magnificent Temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. They were moved up the hillside to keep them from destruction by flooding from the Nile when the High Dam was built forming Lake Nasser. Later, fly back to Cairo for an evening at leisure.
Day 9 Day Trip to Alexandria | Meals: BL
Drive to Alexandria, Egypt's second largest city and its largest seaport. The legend of Alexandria goes back to 331BC when a young Alexander the Great sailed up the Nile and founded the city. Among your stops, you'll visit Pompey's Pillar and Montazah Palace and Gardens before returning to Cairo this evening.
Day 10 Cairo-USA
Depart Cairo early this morning on the flight to London where you connect to your USA-bound flight, arriving later today.
