Be ready for a heart-warming experience as you visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, part of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

David Sheldrick was one of Kenya's first naturalists and he was also the founder warden of Tsavo National Park. For more than 28 years, David and Daphne Sheldrick worked together to protect wildlife from poachers, and to help save many of the smallest victims of poaching, baby elephants, rhinos and more. During your visit you'll meet some of the very special team of elephant handlers who live 24/7 with the elephants and take the place of their lost elephant family. It is an emotional and inspiring visit.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

A stop at the Karen Blixen Museum provides time to walk the grounds and picture life in the days the famous author of "Out of Africa" lived here. The museum was established in 1985 to commemorate the life of Baroness Karen Blixen, whose story was told in her book, Out of Africa. As you walk through the home and stroll the grounds, you might also see some replicas that appeared in the famous movie, "Out of Africa".

Then it's on to feed the giraffes at the Giraffe Center. At the Giraffe Center you will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the giraffes by feeding them from a specially built elevated platform. When the giraffes hear the familiar sound of pellets being poured, they will quickly stick their head in to be first in line. Watch out, those long tongues are quick to grab a pellet!
