After a leisurely morning, set out on a half day tour of Soweto. You know the name. This bustling township brimming with over 2 million people has a tangible sense of community and history. You'll stop at the Kliptown Open Air Museum, where the Freedom Charter was adopted in 1955. Close your eyes and imagine the sounds the Regina Mundi Church holds in its walls - site of many secret underground meetings of then banned political parties. Pass Mandela House and stop at the Hector Pieterson Museum.
Day 3 Mon Johannesburg-Mpumalanga | Meals: B
You are off early this morning, stopping first in Pretoria for a short orientation tour. Contnue on to Mpumalanga. Dropping several hundred feet into the lush subtroical region of the Lowveld, we travel via the historic towns of Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Travel the famous Long Tom Pass, continuing via Sabie into the town of Hazyview and your lodge.

After an early breakfast your drive takes you through the beautiful countryside into the Kingdom of Swaziland. An interactive cultural experience introduces us to the charming people of Swaziland. Continue through Mbabane and on to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley for a true African shopping experience at the vibrant Ezulwini Craft Market, packed with woven baskets, beadwork and carving.
Day 7 Fri Swaziland-Zululand | Meals: B
Travel into Zululand today, passing traditional round huts and endless vistas. Arrive mid-afternoon at our hotel in the Hluhluwe area. Later, enjoy an afternoon open vehicle safari in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game reserves, famous for its conservation of black and white rhino.
Day 8 Sat Zululand-Durban-Cape Town | Meals: B
Start the day with a boat cruise on Lake St. Lucia before departing for Durban. Hug the lush Kwa-Zulu-Natal coastline enroute to Durban, watching the sugar can fields do their own version of the Mexican wave at the urging of the wind. Arrive at Durban Airport for your flight to Cape Town (not included). (Please book a flight after 2 PM). Upon arrival in Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
